A lot of work has been done during the year and the village is looking great. Thank you to everyone who improved the village with paint and flowers during the year, fantastic effort! The 2013 National SuperValu TidyTowns Awards ceremony will take place at The Helix in DCU on 9th September 2013. Below are some of the projects which were carried out during 2013, thanks to the expertise of stone mason John McPhillips.

It was a very informative outing, allowing us to visit, assess and suggest new ideas with other groups, as well as welcoming suggestions for our own village. We passed around a questionnaire where participants could write down things they liked about our village, things they did not like, and suggestions for improvement. The bus tour took in Ballinode, Hollywood Lake, Scotstown, Tydavnet, Emy Lough, Glaslough village and Cluain Lorcain estate in Monaghan town, which has a very active tidy towns group. Now we know how the Tidy Towns judges feel when they visit, so much to see.... so little time. We hope to incorporate some of the things that we liked into our plans for the future, and we are working on going through the returned questionnaires to help iin our planning.
